We are a family of three Prep Schools and one College, all united by a shared mission: to unlock the potential within every child and prepare them to embrace global citizenship in an ever-changing world. Our journey began with Trident Prep Solwezi, followed by Trident College Solwezi, Trident Prep Kalumbila, and, most recently, Trident Prep Lusaka in 2022.
With teachers from around the world, we foster a supportive and dynamic environment where students thrive both academically and personally.
Rooted in strong Christian values, we embrace all faiths, promoting respect and understanding within our diverse community. Our curriculum extends beyond the classroom, offering vibrant sports, culture, service, and environmental stewardship programmes, ensuring a holistic approach to each child’s development.
In a rapidly changing world, creativity and collaboration are key to success. Trident nurtures independent thinking, encouraging students to solve problems, resolve conflicts, and embrace new challenges with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Trident students are accountable for their actions, living with integrity and empathy. We encourage a balanced lifestyle, promoting trust, truthfulness, loyalty, and justice as essential virtues.
We believe in the power of reflection—taking time to consider our experiences, strengths, and challenges. Resilience grows from learning through mistakes, and we strive to improve continuously.
At the heart of Trident Schools is respect—respect for people, property, and the environment, as well as for the diverse cultures and faiths within our community. We celebrate our diversity and common humanity as a global family.
The initiative was born from conversations between Andrew Whittall and his uncles, Philip and Matt Pascall, driven by a belief that quality education is the most valuable gift to equip children for success. While First Quantum Minerals (FQML) had already contributed to improving government schools in the region, Trident College was established as a legacy project, driven by a vision to create a world class institution that would provide quality education and shape future generations.
The Trident schools model would embrace computer literacy, curiosity, empathy, and a sense of civic responsibility. With FQML’s significant support, Trident Schools were built to provide students with the tools to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Trident College opened first, transforming from its humble beginnings in the bush to a vibrant centre of learning. Over the years, Trident has expanded its reach with additional Prep Schools—Trident Prep Solwezi, Trident Prep Kalumbila, and the most recent addition in 2022, Trident Prep Lusaka.
The core philosophy of Trident Schools combines academic excellence with a holistic education that encompasses environmental awareness, cultural exposure, sports & service needed and a strong foundation in Christian values. The opening of the Philip Pascall Chapel and Hall symbolises the school’s commitment to fostering reflection, worship, and the overall development of students.
Trident Schools continue to grow, preparing students to meet the challenges of the 21st century with critical thinking, leadership skills, and the resilience needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. With a focus on nurturing Zambian citizens capable of uplifting the nation and making a global impact, Trident Schools look confidently toward the future, eager to shape the next generation of leaders.
Six Pillars
Trident is based on the philosophy of Six Pillars. These form the foundation of all our activity and identity.
