Trident College is located on a 113-hectare nature reserve in Solwezi, Zambia. The school opened its doors to the first pioneering group of pupils and parents in September 2013. In addition to serving the local copper mining community’s educational needs, the College is now home to 320 pupils. Trident College is rapidly becoming the boarding school of choice in Zambia and a strong option for parents and pupils throughout Southern Africa.
Trident College Solwezi forms part of the Trident Group of schools, consisting of three prep schools and the College. Trident Schools are, in turn, operated by Educore Services, a leading provider of independent schooling in Zambia.
The College offers the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) curriculum to boys and girls from year 7 to year 13 with external Cambridge Certification at the end of Year 11 (IGCSE), Year 12 (A/S-level) and Year 13 (A-level).

Trident College invites applications from suitably qualified and enthusiastic professionals to join our team as an Outdoor and Environmental Education Specialist. We seek a dynamic individual with a proven record in outdoor leadership who can inspire confidence, resilience, and teamwork in students. The successful candidate will lead year-group camps, oversee Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions, and support the school’s co-curricular and leadership programme. Experience in expedition leadership, risk management, and staff training will be an advantage. The Outdoor Education Specialist will report to the Director of Social Responsibility.
Primary Purpose of the Role:
The Outdoor Education Specialist is responsible for creating safe, engaging, and challenging outdoor learning experiences that promote personal growth, resilience, and leadership. Through camps, expeditions, and adventure-based activities, the role fosters environmental awareness and supports the school’s pastoral and educational aims. Qualifications and Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in Outdoor Education, Adventure Leadership, or a related field.
- Proven experience in organising and leading outdoor camps or expeditions.
- A passion for working with young people and helping them grow through challenge.
- Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
Key Skills and Attributes:
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Lead the planning and delivery of Year Camps and DOE expeditions (Bronze, Silver & Gold).
- Create memorable outdoor learning experiences that promote personal growth and environmental awareness.
- Manage risk assessments, logistics, and safety procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to staff in outdoor education, equipping them with the skills and confidence to support students safely and effectively during camps and expeditions.
- Mentor students through their DOE journeys.
Advantage:
Experience as a school counsellor or involvement in pastoral care would be a distinct advantage.
