Advert: Professional Development for Teachers
The Educore Foundation, through its Academy, is recruiting for the January 2026 cohort of participants to
train for a Cambridge Professional Development Qualification. We are inviting degree holders in Primary
and Secondary education to apply. To participate in the programme, candidates must have an excellent
standard of written and spoken English and sufficient competence in digital technologies.
About the Academy
The Educore Academy is Zambia’s first fully practice-based teacher training academy, established in 2014.
Participants train with the Academy in a selected school on an ‘earn while you learn’ model, receiving a stipend
while they train on the job. Participants will work toward a Cambridge Professional Development qualification
(CPDQ) Certificate and then a Diploma. This is highly regarded (see the UK NARIC Benchmarking
Report here), but please note it is not an initial Zambian teaching qualification.
About the Schools
Participants will be placed in supportive host schools, such as one of the family of eight Educore schools.
The Educore schools are in the North-Western and Lusaka provinces of Zambia, educating children and
young people from pre-Nursery to Year 13. The Trident and Sentinel schools use the Cambridge curriculum,
with IGCSE and A Level public exams. Sentinel and Frontier schools also offer ECZ curriculum. Each
school’s aim is to provide an outstanding, holistic education in the context of the school, and there is an emphasis
on outdoor education, social responsibility, sports, music and the arts at every Educore school. The
secondary Trident and Sentinel schools also offer boarding. Other host schools include participating ISAZ
schools and other selected partners.
Opportunity for Partner Schools
Educore Academy is committed to elevating teaching standards and fostering the next generation of outstanding
educators across Zambia. We are actively seeking partnerships with other schools interested in
becoming a ‘host school’ for our practice-based teacher training programme. This collaboration offers significant
benefits to your institution, including:
- Professional development opportunities for your developing staff through the highly regarded Cambridge
- Professional Development Qualification (CPDQ) Certificate and Diploma.
- Enhanced teaching methodologies and pedagogical practices within your school, led by newly qualified
or early-career professionals. - Access to a supportive network and collaborative learning environment.
- Direct support from Educore Academy in facilitating the training within your school environment.
School leaders interested in learning more about this partnership opportunity or supporting their early-career
teachers’ professional development through the Educore Academy, please contact the Programme Leader.
We believe this collaboration can significantly contribute to the growth and excellence of your teaching faculty.
Scope and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be immersed full-time in the school they have been assigned. You can expect to
spend most of your time in the classroom, taking an active role in teaching, and learning how to become a
world-class teacher and leader, whilst being guided by a mentor. You can expect to be responsible for
teaching, marking, planning and supporting other practitioners, as well as contributing to and leading sports,
clubs, events and school trips. Participants placed at the boarding schools will also learn about and take on
boarding responsibilities, and all participants will support the Educore pastoral care ethos and practices. You
will follow a structured and well-supported training programme which includes theory as well as practice in
accordance with government and Cambridge requirements.

In recent years, increasing numbers of applicants resort to the use of AI tools in their responses. While we
recognise these tools are useful, over-reliance on them is obvious. Our suggestion is that you keep your responses
personal and authentic for a better chance of success.
