I was led into Education by my need to see a difference in my children’s education. I saw how Early Childhood Education impacted the way my children socialised into Junior Primary. I also realised that our children’s world is rapidly changing and that parents and teachers have to ensure that our children leave schools prepared to cope with issues such as: global warming, interaction through social media and a new world that needs young adults who can be pioneers in creative and innovative thinking.  My early career in accounting ensured that I could successfully lead my passion for Environmental Education. I have been HOD of Ecology for grades 1 to 12 for the last 6 years, leading our school through various school based and community projects. The highlight being able to be part of the UN Convention on Climate Change in 2019, (COP25) where I led a Climate Change Community Event which was filmed to be part of the world pledge to reduce carbon emissions.  I have been HOD of Foundation Phase which I have led successfully for 4 years. Children learn with enthusiasm, joy, openness, and a willingness to absorb the world around them. It is my goal to ensure that every child is happy, safe and feels secure in their school environment. Each child can blossom and flourish in education. Every child, regardless of their different learning barriers can thrive in their academic career.  I am qualified in both the Cambridge and IEB syllabus and have designed school curriculums to meet both international standards and keep and preserve the cultural identity of the school. I am also an Eco-Schools Champion and a Seesaw Ambassador and led our school through the Covid Pandemic by offering the Seesaw digital learning platform.I am very excited and look forward to being part of the Trident Community. Education is a twofold process, and I look forward to sharing what I have been privileged to learn these past few years and also to learn from my new Trident community.

I was born and bred on the Copperbelt Province in a mining town of Mufulira. Ever since completion of my Year 12, the latent love for teaching was quite basic. Later, after acquiring pedagogical methods the desire grew stronger. I earned my bachelor’s degree – BAEd. (Geography and Mathematics) and later obtained my MSc – Geo (Physical Geography) both from the University of Zambia. Teaching these subjects have contributed to shaping the manner I interact with learners at all levels. Both require the manipulation of numbers while side by side finding simpler ways to deliver a learner-centred learning. I had an international stint in Botswana where I experienced teaching in both the government and private secondary schools. In a government school, as school Lead, was tasked to implement the HIV/AIDS and related issues into the curriculum across all subject areas according to the Government National Policy on Education. Variable lessons learnt about the complexity of a curriculum and fusing of HIV/AIDS matters, was quite enlightening. In private schools I was exposed to teaching the CIE curriculum in a multi-cultural, racial environment. In my teaching journey, what I see as constant and consistent is the emphasis on critical thinking from simple statements to complex situations while hand in hand inducing independent learning from learners using a variety of strategies, innovation, creativity as well as allow learners to collaborate with their peers in order to churn out well rounded individuals. I do engage in sport activities especially football and volleyball.

Brian has worked at a private boarding school in Zimbabwe as a sports coach and Physical Education teacher for eleven years. In his spare time, he coaches Trident Football team which is currently in division one. Brian believes that any pupil can be the best at what they want to achieve if they put their mind to it and are surrounded by people who believe in them.

I am a resilient, open-minded individual, committed to continuous learning and staying updated. I acquired a certificate in early years teaching, that allowed me venture into my teaching career, explored and developed skills in teaching strategies. I started a first nursery class at Eagles Wings Christian School and managed its growth to a bigger number before being moved to teach in the lower primary section. I managed a reception class at Dominican convent school, taught year 8 in a government school and later on, earned a Diploma in Junior Secondary teaching. Furthermore, I moved to volunteer as a class assistant teacher at Sentinel Kalumbila School and additionally, taught as a pre-nursery and nursery maternity cover teacher at Trident Prep Kalumbila School. I have however earned a Degree in Early Years Education and awaiting my graduation this December 2025. With extensive experience in both early years and secondary teaching, I possess a unique ability to adapt my teaching style to meet the diverse needs of students across various age groups and abilities. My passion for teaching is undeniable and having spent most of the years in an Early Years setup, I believe that children learn through a combination of experiences, observation and direct instruction. Henceforth, throughout my career, I have embraced creativity, forward- thinking mindset, openness to change and adjusting positively to evolving circumstances and challenges. Additionally, I have developed a range of innovative and effective teaching strategies, incorporating technology, arts and real-world applications to make learning fun, relevant and challenging. However, I value teamwork and seeing collective success as equally as individual achievements. I therefore look forward to a more success story with the Trident community.
