Trident College stands as a beacon of excellence: a place where ambition is nurtured, character is shaped, and potential is transformed into achievement. My A Level journey at Trident was truly life-changing, equipping me with the academic strength, discipline, and confidence to thrive beyond the classroom. The rigorous A Level curriculum in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics honed my analytical and problem-solving skills, while the school’s supportive and inspiring environment encouraged growth in every facet of life. Leadership roles such as Interact Club Secretary, Head of House- Moghrein, and Lab Assistant taught me teamwork, service, and resilience. Having been guided by dedicated teachers, tutors, and the Sixth Form University Guidance Programme led by Mr. Cole, I developed a strong letter of intent that strengthened my university application. In all, these experiences opened the door to the prestigious Türkiye Bursları Scholarship and empowered me to face the world with confidence, determination, and purpose.
Isaac Kayelu (class of 2025)
BEng Chemical Engineering, University of Pretoria, Full ride Mastercard Scholarship recipient Bursları ScholarshipMy two years of A Levels at Trident College have been nothing short of transformative. I joined the program with many uncertainties about my career path and purpose, but the holistic A Level experience, from rigorous academics and career guidance lessons to extracurriculars and leadership opportunities, has set the foundation for me to step into the world with confidence and direction. I now feel ready to begin my university journey, not because I expect it to be easy, but because I have been equipped with the necessary skills and mindset to overcome any challenges and learn from them.

Now that I’m in university, I can truly see the knowledge and skills I obtained from my A Levels bear fruit. University isn’t easy, but it feels more manageable because I’m not starting from point zero. A Levels gave me a head start. The engaging coursework and focus on independent learning during my A Levels prepped me to handle fast-paced lectures and complex material with confidence. In fact, my A Level background even allowed me to enrol in advanced units instead of foundation ones. The knowledge, discipline, and study habits I developed, especially the latter (thank you for the study workshops!), continue to make my university journey smoother.

The academic shift from IGCSEs to A Level is something that is evident through every single subject: the content is far more complex and detailed, requiring higher levels of thinking that really challenge critical-thinking skills. Having done A-Levels, I was so much more prepared for the massive jump to university learning. Fortunately, you will have the opportunity to go through proper guidance on navigating your next steps in life with university and careers classes with Mr Cole during your A Level experience. Here I learned, and you will too, about applying to universities in specific countries, different grade requirements, navigating culture shock, how to manage visa applications, and yes, believe it or not, how to make new friends in new environments! Trident College has built relationships with many colleges and universities around the world; you will give yourself a massive advantage in what is a highly competitive process. Looking back, by staying at Trident College to do my A-Levels, I put myself in a much better position academically, botn terms of the quality of university I could apply to, and in preparation for the challenge. Thanks to the challenge of A Level and the support of my teachers, I’m not finding university as hard as I expected it to be. I know there is excitement, and you want to get your life going, but take it from me, you are better off being truly ready so you don’t crash out at the next stage.

Our structured leadership programme and Life Orientation curriculum is designed to uncover individual potential and develop our pupils to be leaders in any career they choose to pursue, whilst shaping them into responsible global citizens ready to live happy and successful independent lives.
The process culminates in the Learner Leader Convention, where students are nominated by peers for leadership roles, committing to uphold our values and empower the community.
